Clutch Cable.... done!

We are not brilliantly blessed with mechanical ability, so changing the Clutch Cable that snapped last week was not something we were looking forward too, we did keep looking at the new cable and putting it down again!, however once we started the job it took under an hour and although we still have to "fine adjust" it was not such a ordeal!

Little things like this give a big confidence boost, and future jobs not look so bad when you have had a success!

Festival Woes.......

The good news.... Halfords played ball and a new battery appears to have cured the starting issues!

May and the Festival season is upon us, a trip to Huddersfield to see Red Sky Coven during the last weekend of April gave little issue, in fact we had a good run on empty motorway and pulled the hills out of Huddersfield without too much hassle..... unless you where behind us!

The first weekend of May saw us heading to Wath upon Dearne for the Wath (Folk) Festival. Plan was to travel Friday, help with Angel Gardens Saturday, back Sunday, this all went pear shaped at Derby when the Clutch cable snapped. Some time was spent with cable ties and ringing to see if anyone local had one, to no avail as a "lift" on the recovery wagon saw us returning home!

Lesson, carry a few more spares!, we made the Festival though, and still managed a good day!

More Starting Woes....

Just 12 months ago we fitted a new starter motor after some weeks of problems, again we have a starting issue.    An intermittent problem, sometimes no issue, sometimes a turn or two of the key, other times help (jump start) needed. With Daisy running so well it is a real pain, never sure if she will start or not.

Several meter tests, forum "posts" and e-mail advise all point to the battery and or charging. The battery is just 18 months old, but states "4 years guarantee" on its side.... we will see!, Time to spend a little more time cleaning leads and terminals along with getting rid of some of the old wiring that there is so much of!

All seem to be confident that`s not a "major" issue...... time will tell!

First Big Run 2012

6th April and the first "Big Run" of the year...... 300 mile round trip to Elveden Centre Parcs. It was a shame that Daisy would be left in a car park though. 5 hours after leaving home we got to the Parc, a long time you may say even in a 1975 camper full to overflowing with bikes and holiday tat, but a stop to pick up my dad, a stop to drop off Beau, our Westie, and an hour in a traffic jam did make for an extra long journey!

The return leg was a little quicker, topping 65mph at one point, as the miles rolled passed we turned our thoughts to the Summer and some "proper" Camper travels!

As ever, Daisy ran fine and seems ready for the fun ahead!

Break In

New locks then...

Rubbing the sleep from your eyes on a frosty, things don't always focus too well, but i soon woke up and focused all too well. Some little S**t has had a go at getting in. The drivers door and petrol filler cap locks are usable, but look a mess the rear door however will need a new lock.
